About Count Out Loud

Count Out Loud is the accountant for Australia’s creative industries. We work with a wide range of creative industry clients, from film and television production companies, documentary producers, post-production and VFX studios, content creators and creative freelancers across the country, the people making the work everyone else watches. Strength behind the spotlight is the whole idea, the financial backing that lets creative businesses do their best work.

Creative businesses earn differently to everyone else, with project-based revenue, seasonal cash flow, government offsets and income built on IP. We have been a Xero Platinum Champion Partner since 2016 and our work runs from Producer Offset claims and QAPE tracking through to business structuring, tax compliance and Virtual CFO advisory. We are a technology forward practice, and the experience our clients have with us matters as much as the technical work itself.

The role

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to keep the day to day of the practice running smoothly. You will be the organised, reliable support the whole team leans on, handling the steady stream of admin that keeps client work moving and the office ticking over.

This is a great seat for someone who likes variety, takes pride in getting the details right and wants to be part of a practice doing genuinely interesting work. It suits someone early in their career or returning to work who is organised, friendly and keen to learn.

What you will be doing

  • Handling incoming calls, emails and enquiries, and making sure they reach the right person
  • Preparing, formatting and sending client documents and correspondence
  • Keeping client records and our systems accurate and up to date
  • Supporting the team with scheduling, diary management and meeting coordination
  • Helping with ATO and ASIC paperwork, lodgement tracking and deadline reminders
  • Managing office supplies, post and the general smooth running of the workplace
  • Pitching in across the team wherever an extra pair of organised hands is needed

What we are looking for

  • Strong organisation and a genuine eye for the details that matter
  • Friendly, clear communication on the phone, by email and in person
  • The ability to juggle competing tasks and stay calm when things are busy
  • Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn the tools we use, including Xero
  • Reliability and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • An interest in the creative industries and the businesses we look after

Experience in an administration, reception or office support role is an advantage, as is any exposure to a professional services or accounting practice. What matters most is organisation, warmth and a willingness to learn.

Why join Count Out Loud?

Our clients are building films, television series, documentaries and creative businesses, so no two days look quite the same. We are a specialist team, which means your work is visible, your contribution is valued and there is room to grow as you find your feet.

You get flexibility around how and where you work, ongoing development and a friendly team that takes the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
